{"id":561,"date":"2017-01-08T16:19:50","date_gmt":"2017-01-08T21:19:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/propilots.org\/?page_id=561"},"modified":"2017-01-08T16:29:22","modified_gmt":"2017-01-08T21:29:22","slug":"annual-business-meeting-2017","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/propilots.org\/index.php\/about-mission\/minutes\/annual-business-meeting-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Annual Business Meeting 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<p class=\"page-title\">\n<p class=\"page-title\">Held January 4, 2017 at Landmark Hangar<\/p>\n<p class=\"page-title\">Minutes recorded by Bill Scharff\u00a0for Christine Mortine, Secretary<\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content clearfix\">\n<div class=\"page_content\">\n<div class=\"inner41\">\n<h4><strong>Meeting Called To Order<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Richard Wodell, PPA President called the meeting to order at 8:05 PM, with 2 officers and all trustees present.<\/p>\n<p>A quorum was established.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Secretary\u2019s Report<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>No report was made.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Treasurer\u2019s Report<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The 31 December 2015 balance was $ 2,993.39<br \/>\nThe 31 December 2016 balance is\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $ 3,211.73 (unaudited)<br \/>\nThe net difference for 2016 is a plus\u00a0\u00a0 $ 218.34<br \/>\nA possible December credit card billing discrepancy is being resolved and the<br \/>\nTreasurer will give an accurate and audited report at a future meeting.<br \/>\nAn amended meeting minutes can then be published.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Unfinished Business<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>No unfinished business was discussed.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>New Business<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Guests and new members were welcomed.<\/p>\n<p>Members were asked to work their contacts to request sponsors for meetings this year.<\/p>\n<p>Rich Wodell questioned the members as to the future administration of the Association due to a lack of volunteers to fill open and expiring officer positions.\u00a0 Much discussion as to the future direction of the Association leadership resulted in no definitive action.<\/p>\n<p>Possible actions to increase membership were discussed including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Appointing a Membership Chairman to coordinate recruiting.<\/li>\n<li>Holding offsite meeting.<\/li>\n<li>Inviting more Associate Members (those not meeting current membership requirements), especially the IP from OSU.<\/li>\n<li>Finding additional meeting speakers to fill the void left by difficulty getting meeting sponsor commitments from industry.
