Born March 25, 1923, Bob started his nearly 70-year flying career in 1944 as part of class 44-E at Hicks Field in Ft. Worth, TX. He was a member of the 449th Bomb Group in\u00a0<a id=\"InlineMicrositeLink_World_War_II\" class=\"MicrositeKeyword\" title=\"Visit World War II Memorial Site to see similar profiles\" href=\"http:\/\/www.legacy.com\/memorial-sites\/ww2\/?personid=190066358&amp;affiliateID=1428\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World War II<\/a>\u00a0and also a member of the 437th Troop Carrier Group in Korea. For 28 years, he served as a pilot for the State of Ohio, retiring in 1986. <a href=\"http:\/\/propilots.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/vet.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-405\" src=\"http:\/\/propilots.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/vet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"249\" height=\"47\" \/><\/a>He is preceded in death by his wife Beverly Mather, his father Charles Lang, his mother Hazel Davis Lang, and brother Charles &#8220;Ike&#8221; Lang. Survived by his daughter, Susan Lang; and longtime companion, Barbara Farley.
