Burnham J. Young , (PPA #101)

(Major, USAF, Retired), age 84, passed away quietly on August 19, 2009, in Tuscon, Arizona.

Mr. Young was born August 10, 1925 to James and Ida Young in Detroit, Mich. He is a graduate of the Henry Ford Trade School and attended Western Michigan University. Mr. Young proudly served his country for 22 years in the United States Air Force and fought in two wars. He was also a Flight Inspector for the FAA for 20 years. He loved airplanes and flying. He was member of the Christ Lutheran Church, the Retired Officers Association, the Berwick Kiwanis Club the Bexley Activities Club. He was a volunteer for the USO and enjoyed his weekly coffee dates with the “Romeos.”

He is preceded in death by his wife Mary and brother Harley Young. He is survived by daughters Anita (James) Young Balthaser of Tuscon, Ariz. and Barbara (Steve) Long of Columbus, Ohio.

Memorial Service, 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2009 at the SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State Street, Columbus with Pastor Tom Wolfe officiating. Friends may visit with the family following the Memorial Service. Internment at Arlington National Cemetery.
