Robert “Bob” Lang entered into rest on August 22, 2018. Born March 25, 1923, Bob started his nearly 70-year flying career in 1944 as part of class 44-E at Hicks Field in Ft. Worth, TX. He was a member of the 449th Bomb Group in World War II and also a member of the 437th Troop Carrier Group in Korea. For 28 years, he served as a pilot for the State of Ohio, retiring in 1986. He is preceded in death by his wife Beverly Mather, his father Charles Lang, his mother Hazel Davis Lang, and brother Charles “Ike” Lang. Survived by his daughter, Susan Lang; and longtime companion, Barbara Farley. To celebrate his life, “Bob’s Happy Hour” will be held September 6 beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Spud’s Bar and Grill, 1810 Henderson Rd, Columbus.
