FRANKEN Harry B. Franken, age 79, Friday, September 26, 2003 at his residence.
WW II US Army Society of 1st Infantry Division Veteran. Member of the Knights of Columbus, OSU Alumni, past member (chairman) of Port Columbus Airport Commission, OSU School of Journalism Alumni, award winning journalist for the Columbus Citizen, the Columbus Citizen-Journal, the Dispatch, and the Daily Reporter, former Director of Public Information Ohio Supreme Court, editor for several aviation, labor, and law publications, author of “Tibbets Story and Columbus: The Discovery City”, contributor to numerous books and national publications, periodically appeared on talkshows, and was also a noted public speaker. Graduate of Central High School and OSU. Also attended Centre College in Danville, KY and Nottingham College and Oxford College in England.
Preceded in death by parents Henry and Marie Franken and brother William. Survived by son, Mark (Hang), Paul (Denise), Gregory (Jackie), David (Gabrielle Curmode); daughters, Juliana (Michael) Graessle, Angela (Robert) Wolfe; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; many other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
Friends received Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 South High. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen the Martyr Church, 4031 Clime Road. Rev. Father John Bakle Celebrant. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery.
